‘Romney Vs. Sandy’ Ad: Is ‘The Rise Of The Oceans’ Funny Now, Governor? [VIDEO]
During the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, thought he’d make a “funny” at the expense of President Barack Obama. Exhibiting snarky humor that had previously been indiscernible, he unapologetically mocked the president’s dedication to climate change, drawing the loudest ovation of the night from the tickled crowd of like-minded conservatives.
Mittens is not laughing now.
The ad below, which comes from Forecast the Facts and ClimateSilence.org, is chilling. By juxtaposing heart-wrenching images from Hurricane Sandy with Romney’s smirking, smug face, it clearly shows the disconnect between him, his supporters, and the United States of America they claim to love so much.
At a campaign rally in Minnesota last Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton reminded supporters of that “joke” and drew a stark comparison between the two candidates, Politico reports:
“He ridiculed the president — ridiculed the president for his efforts to fight global warming in economically beneficial ways. He said ‘Oh, you’re going to turn back the seas,’” Clinton said “In my part of America, we would like it if someone could’ve done that yesterday.”
“In the real world, Barack Obama’s policies work better.”
There’s no way to get Romnesia over this one, Mittens. Though I’m sure you’ll try.
