What!? iPhone Photo Editing App Has Effect Called “N****r-Brown”
The creator of an iPhone app called “Picture Effect Magic” is under fire for the use of a racial slur, “N****r-brown,” to describe an effect that tints the picture brown.
The developer, Lin Xuehua, issued a statement claiming that it was a mistake made due to his poor English.
“Feel so sorry to have expression mistake. New version will coming soon(sic),” the author said in the statement.
Many angry users expressed their disgust with the app on the reviews:
““I used this app all the time before the update, now there is an effect called n****r brown?! That is disgusting. That is unacceptable and the creators should be ashamed,” wrote Reviewerofthemonth.
