During the custody proceeding Wade claimed Siohvaughn could not “be considered a fit and proper person” to raise their children. The All-Star said his wife exhibited threatening behavior, had extramarital affairs, used abusive parenting methods and was unwilling to let the 2006 NBA finals MVP see his children.
According to Wade’s attorney, the very public three-year custody proceedings were some of the longest in Illinois history.
