An NC Senate committee on May 13 unanimously advanced a bill that which would create the state’s first systematic K-8 math intervention program, modeled on Read to Achieve.
The rankings come as historically Black colleges and universities have raised their profiles.
Together they account for just 16 percent of the best 6,000 public high schools analyzed in the annual survey.
