An NC Senate committee on May 13 unanimously advanced a bill that which would create the state’s first systematic K-8 math intervention program, modeled on Read to Achieve.
The new policy comes after Texas A&M fired a professor for teaching about gender identity in a children’s literature class earlier this year.
Texas A&M President Mark Welsh was criticized for not firing a professor who taught that there are more than two genders in a college course.
