An NC Senate committee on May 13 unanimously advanced a bill that which would create the state’s first systematic K-8 math intervention program, modeled on Read to Achieve.

Speaking to supporters a little after midnight, Lee focused her remarks on the power of Black women as leaders and coalition builders.

Speaking at the D.C. march, SisterSong’s Executive Director Monica Simpson said that fighting for abortion access was a fight against white supremacy.  "As Black women and people of color, our bodily autonomy is essential to our freedom," Simpson said.
