Strauss-Kahn Defense Claims African Hotel Maid Was A Prostitute
Strauss-Kahn Charges To Be Dropped
Prosecutors will agree to drop rape charges against Dominique Strauss-Kahn due to claims that the accuser, the Guinean hotel maid, was engaging in prostitution, according to NYPost.com.
The defense claims that Strauss-Kahn admittedly engaged in consensual sex with the maid, but she turned against him after he didn’t pay her.
The maid’s credibility came into question after she admitted lying about her application for asylum and on her taxes. More relevant to the case, she also admitted lying about details in the alleged assault.
A source told the Post, “Her credibility is so bad now, we know we cannot sustain a case with her”
The accuser’s lawyer said that just because there were “mistakes” in her immigration forms “does not mean she is not a rape victim.”
