Students Scream As NC Tornado Wrecks HBCU Shaw University
North Carolina — A video on the local North Carolina NBC affiliate shows a group of Shaw University students providing a first-hand look at the devastation the tornadoes have caused across the Historically Black University.
Julius Stukes Jr., a sophomore at Shaw University, shot the breathtaking video showing the areas of campus that the tornado ripped through and destroyed.
“Glass is broken everywhere,” Stukes says at one point in the video. “I don’t know if you can see with my camera, trees broken and everything. Glass is everywhere — everybody’s windows are busted open.”
Entering the Willie E. Gary Student Center, Stukes’ video shows a building heavily damaged by the storms.
“Glass is broken and everything,” Stukes says.
