The election, a historic one for Chicago, will mark the first time either a person of Jewish ancestry, a Black woman, or Hispanic will be elected Mayor.
The candidates are former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun, Chicago public schools president Gery Chico, and City Clerk Miguel del Valle.
Emanuel is considered the front-runner, but still has to manage 50 percent of the vote to avoid a run-off.
