Have You Encountered Racism Traveling Overseas?
We at Newsone decided to pose this question considering the First Lady’s trip with her youngest daughter, Sasha, to Spain this week.
Earlier this week, there was a bit of race-based controversy surrounding this trip. The controversy involved the US State Department and a warning on their website about police racism towards Blacks in Spain. This warning came about due to the recent detainment of two Black government officials.
Personally, I’ve never traveled across Europe, but I have been to Germany and while my experience as a whole was great, I did experience bits of racial hostility. Many of my friends have also traveled to Asia and other parts of the world and experienced their own bouts with racism.
So, we want to hear from you our readers. Have you ever experienced any racism overseas?
