Delaware Mom Beats Son With Cord For Trying To Buy Book
WILMINGTON, Del. — Serena Wardlaw was arrested on assault charges for allegedly beating her 9-year-old son with an extension cord for taking a check from her checkbook so that he could buy a book from his school’s book fair.
An investigation revealed that Wardlaw was enraged when she found out that her son took one of her checks and she beat him with an extension cord all over his body, police say.
Police also discovered that the boy’s 7-year-old twin sisters had marks all over their bodies from a previous incident in which they, too, were beaten with an extension cord.
Wardlaw was released on $21,000 unsecured bail and ordered to have no unsupervised contact with her children.
