Jabrai Copney Sentenced To Life For Harvard Murder
WOBURN – Jabrai Copney was sentenced to life in prison for killing Justin Cosby. He was also found guilty of weapons possession.
Copney posed as a Harvard student and befriended Cosby, who he later set up to be robbed for his marijuana at the Harvard dorm, Kirkland House, by Copney and his accomplices, Jason Aquino and Blayn Jiggetts, who wound up killing Cosby. The Harvard Crimson said that Cosby’s mother, Denise told Copney after the verdict:
“Each day I get up, I ache with loneliness and sadness for the loss of my son,” she said.
“I hope you think about what you did to Justin each and every day for the rest of your life, as I do,” she said to Copney. “You’re despicable. You’re the scum of the earth. … May the rest of your life be a continuous hell on earth.”
Copney wrote “Feelin It” along with producer Ryan Leslie for New Edition when he was just 15 in 2004. His girlfriend, Brittany Smith was a Harvard student, who is charged with accessory to murder after the fact for helping him hide the gun and escape to New York after the murder.
