Albertina Walker “Gospel Queen” Dies At 81
Albertina Walker, known as the queen of gospel has died at the age of 81. She had been in the intensive care unit since last month. She is perhaps best known for her songs Lord Remember Me, Walk Around Heaven and Lord Keep Me Day by Day.
She was born in Chicago and is known for founding the world famous Caravans and has recorded over 60 albums.
Walker had been battling emphysema, and died Friday morning in a Chicago hospital, where she had been since late August.
