Tupac's Mother Arrested For Felony Marijuana Possession

LUMBERTON – The mother of late rapper Tupac Shakur was arrested earlier this month by state alcohol agents.
Afeni Shakur Davis, 63, of the 2900 block of Crystal Lane in Lumberton, was charged April 16 with felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance and simple possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $10,000.

She is currently out on bond, according to court records.
A Lumberton native, Davis has made a name for herself in her own right as a successful businesswoman, philanthropist and political activist.
She founded the holding company that oversees all of Tupac’s released and unreleased material.
