Grammy’s Honor Aretha Franklin To Kick Off Show
Five of the best singers you’ll ever hear came together tonight to honor the “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin to start off the 2011 Grammy Awards show.
Christina Aguilera, Martina McBride, Florence of Florence and the Machine, Yolanda Adams and Jennifer Hudson sang classics from Aretha’s catalog for 15 minutes.
Franklin appeared at the end of the video with a videotaped message for her fans, the academy, and the ladies who sang her beautiful songs. She also appeared in a much healthier state with some clear weight loss. Franklin went through serious health issues late last year that scared many of her fans, wasn’t at the show and is still recovering in Detroit.
