Man Found Guilty Of Murder For Killing TI's Friend
Hosea Johnson, who was on trial for murdering TI’s best friend and personal assistant, Philant Johnson, has been found guilty of murder.
Thomas was charged with shooting Philant Johnson to death during a gun battle in May of 2006. T.I. was in town for a concert the night of the shooting.
A fight at an after-party at the Club Ritz in Roselawn forced his entourage to leave. Last Friday, during testimony, T.I. told the jury his van was followed and shot at several times. The rapper says the shots were meant for him. But Johnson and four others inside the van were hit. Johnson died… the other four members of the entourage survived.
Prosecutors say Hosea’s brother Padron was also involved in the shooting. A trial date for Padron has not yet been set.
