Reggie Garrett, Texas HS QB, Suffers Seizure And Dies On Field
Reggie Garrett, the senior quarterback for West Orange-Stark High School in Orange, Texas, collapsed on the sideline during a game Friday night and later died at a local hospital, according to reports.
Garrett collapsed on the sideline during the second quarter of WO-S’ game against Jasper Friday. An ambulance rushed him to a nearby hospital while the game continued. The Beaumont Enterprise reports Garrett was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m CT.
WO-S coaches said Garrett appeared to suffer a seizure after collapsing. The Enterprise reports that during the third quarter of the game, players and fans became aware that Garrett had died at the hospital, though there was no confirmation.
