Kolb Fails Test, Vick Poised to Start Sunday
Kevin Kolb and Stewart Bradley remain stalled in their recovery from concussions, meaning it is more and more likely that Michael Vick and Omar Gaither will start at quarterback and middle linebacker, respectively, when the Eagles visit Detroit Sunday.
Kolb and Bradley both suffered their injuries in Sunday’s 27-20 loss to Green Bay in the season opener. And while Birds coach Andy Reid said during a news conference Wednesday that Bradley is ahead of Kolb in his recovery, neither has passed a test that involves light physical activity and represents the first of five stages in the recovery process. Nor has either been able to so much as attend meetings, much less practice.
“I’m going to take it day by day,” Reid said.
Vick saw occasional work in the first half against the Packers, then replaced Kolb in the second half. Overall he went 16-for-24 for 175 yards and a touchdown and rushed 11 times for 103 yards.
