Yesterday, on R. Kelly‘s 52nd birthday, it was reported that he is under criminal investigation in the state of Georgia. Now prosecutors in Chicago are asking for victims to come forward, and one of his accusers has a clear message for him.

In a press conference, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, the first Black woman in that role, said, “In order to have an investigation, we have to have victims and witnesses who are willing to come forward with information. Allegations of domestic violence or sexual assault require someone to say what they’ve seen, heard or experienced.”

She continued, “There is nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of both victims and witnesses. We cannot seek justice without you.”

R. Kelly’s attorney Steve Greenberg attacked Foxx for the press conference. The Chicago Sun Times reports, “I don’t think Kim Foxx should be giving any legitimacy to reality TV allegations. The lead prosecutor should be silent until there’s evidence. … She essentially went up there and said, ‘We have no evidence of a crime, but if someone would like to make something up, please call us.’”

He continued, “No one here has reported a crime. There’s no evidence of anything. You can’t disprove something that didn’t happen.” He also said that he nor R. Kelly watched “Surviving R. Kelly” on Lifetime, saying, “I don’t watch that crap. He’s not going to watch it either.”

One of Kelly’s accusers, Jerhonda Pace, posted on Twitter, “Count your days.” See below:

Karma might finally be catching up with Kelly.

Executive produced by dream hampton, the docu-series detailed accounts from people in Kelly’s circle, including the singer’s brother, Bruce, who outwardly said Kelly had a “preference” for young women and singer Sparkle (the aunt of the 14-year-old in the sex tape) who testified against him in court.
