Sasheer Zamata Leaves 'SNL'
Sasheer Zamata Bids Farewell To ‘SNL’
Saturday’s show was the last for “Saturday Night Live” regular cast member Sasheer Zamata after four seasons, the Huffington Post reports.
Unlike fellow cast members Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer, who announced their departure before the season finale, Zamata’s exit plan was kept quiet. The Rock, who hosted the show, and cast member Colin Jost carried Zamata off stage for her final bow.
Zamata joined the show in 2014 when SNL was under fire for a lack of diversity. SNL hired Zamata as the first Black female cast member since Maya Rudolph departed the show in 2007.
