President Obama Hosts Final My Brother’s Keeper Summit
President Barack Obama held his final My Brother’s Keeper National Summit Friday, according to the White House.
Obama, who will leave his post in January, will “lift up what’s working and applaud efforts to scale and sustain this critical work for the long-term” during his speech. The event will be part of the #IamMBK Digital Day of Action, the White House said in a blog post:
As we near the end of the Obama administration, we are celebrating the historic progress underway to expand opportunity for all of our kids, and want to make sure that there is no doubt that MBK is here to stay!
Today, Wednesday, December 14, we are launching a #IamMBK Day of Action to encourage more Americans to become mentors and do their part to help all kids achieve their dreams.
My Brother’s Keeper helps Black men get off the ground with job training and emotional support, allowing them to get more out of their lives, NBC 29 reports.
