‘Blackish’ Creator, Kenya Barris, Sued For $1,000,000
‘Blackish’ Creator, Kenya Barris, Sued For $1 million
The co-creator of ABC’s hit Blackish is suing for $1 million and claiming Kenya Barris cut him out of the show, according to TMZ. Bryan Barber says Blackish is very similar to the show he and Barris created back in 2006. Barber and Barris have known each other since their college days, dating back to 1996.
TMZ reports:
Barber says Blackish has tons of similarities to the OG show idea — such as the lead character driving a luxury car, wearing high-end clothes, and marrying a bi-racial doctor named “Rainbow.”
Barber is a popular director who’s worked with Destiny’s Child, G-Unit and OutKast on music videos and OutKast’s film Idlewild.
