Unsealed Deposition Shows Camille Cosby Refused To Answer Questions
Camille Cosby Refuses To Answer Deposition Questions, Citing Marital Privilege
Camille Cosby has been quite mum about the defamation lawsuit against her husband, Bill Cosby.
A transcript released on Friday reveals that the television producer and wife of the comedian underwent questioning with lawyers in February and April regarding the lawsuit.
During the six-hour deposition, lawyers asked Camille whether she believed her husband “acted with integrity” during their 52-year marriage, according to CBS News. Camille was also asked if she believed her husband took advantage of his status to manipulate women.
According to the site, “Camille Cosby did not answer those questions and many others after her lawyer cited marital privilege, the legal protection given to communications between spouses.”
During the course of about 40 years, over 50 women have accused Bill of rape. Cosby has maintained his innocence.
He faces a criminal case in Pennsylvania, where prosecutors have charged him with sexually violating a former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand. He has pleaded not guilty, CBS News reports.
