Arizona Reporter Arrested For Defecating In Yard While On Assignment
While news reporting is his business, an Arizona reporter never thought he would make the news for, well, doing his business.
KPHO reporter Jonathan Lowe, 33, was caught by a neighbor leaning against a wall outside her home to defecate, reports the New York Daily News. The neighbor called police and Lowe was arrested, then charged with a misdemeanor. He told the police that he was feeling sick. If convicted, he faces a $2,500 fine or six months in jail, according to the Phoenix New Times.
Lowe was in the neighborhood reporting on Patrick Zane Thompson, a former Arizona State University football star who allegedly sacrificed the family dog by placing it in a BBQ smoker.
The woman who called the police said this could have all been avoided if Lowe would have asked to use her bathroom instead, writes the Daily News.
KPHO reports that John Lowe is now a “former” reporter.
“Those people who called on me just wanted to start problems,” Lowe told the Daily News.
