Here Are 40 Of The Greatest Black TV Shows Of All Time
Black television has long reflected a wide diversity of Black America’s stories — from the college students at Hillman, to the family matters in Carl Winslow’s house and the hard struggles Florida and James Evans endured living in project housing.
It shows that Black people are not a monolithic people, that we come from different walks of life, that we transcend beyond stereotypes. Black television has allowed us to tell our stories authentically while offering an escape, whether through laughter or drama, for the Black audience.
