A Houston mom, arrested this summer after leaving her children at a food court to attend a job interview, told Inside Edition in a recent interview that she loves her children despite the mistake.
Laura Browder was charged with child abandonment in July after leaving her children, 2 and 6, at the food court near a McDonald’s while she went to a job interview at Starbucks Coffee about 30-feet away at Memorial City Mall in Houston, Texas.
From Inside Edition:
“What I was thinking was, ‘This is for my children. I really need this job,’’’ she told Inside Edition
She said had no child care and that as a single mom, she had to bring her children to the Memorial City Mall in Houston.
The child abandonment charges were later dismissed.
“I’m not justifying what I did. I was on a job interview. Wrong is wrong,” she told Inside Edition. “I felt so bad as a mother. You can ask anyone that’s close to me. They know I love my children.”
Tough lesson for Browder to learn, but we’re glad she landed the job!
