Billboard Apologizes For “Sexualizing” North West In Bizarre Tweet
Billboard Magazine has apologized for “sexualizing” North West in a bizarre tweet sent out Friday morning.
Someone on Billboard‘s staff tweeted out a picture of North West sticking out her tongue while holding a Pez candy dispenser in her hand, with a caption that read, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree…” Many thought the joke alluded to Kim Kardashian’s infamous sextape with Ray J.

As the tweet – which has since been deleted – began to pop up on followers’ timelines, the backlash was immediate:
The publication claims the caption was taken out of context and issued an apology: “The caption was about her comments to paparazzi. The suggestion some see was not intended.” The tweet was, in fact, linked to a story on Billboard about North shutting down the paparazzi by saying, “I said no pictures!”
