Judge Refuses To Dismiss Suge Knight's Murder Case

A judge has denied Suge Knight’s request to dismiss his fatal hit-and-run case after the key witness refused to identify him, PEOPLE reports.

Knight and his lawyer, Thomas Mesereau, were in front of Superior Court Judge Stephen A. Marcus in Los Angeles Tuesday when Marcus declared the case would proceed. Mesereau argued the case should be dropped after Cle “Bone” Sloan failed to identify Knight in his testimony in April.

Sloan was one of the men present in January when Knight allegedly ran over and killed Terry Carter after an argument on the set of N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. While he told police Knight was present, Sloan changed his story during testimony, claiming he didn’t want be a “snitch” and send Knight to prison.

“I’m not a snitch,” he said. “I will not be forced to tell on anybody…I will not be used to send Suge Knight to prison,” he vowed.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Marcus told Knight and his lawyers the 50-year-old was the only one with a motive.

Superior Court Judge Stephen A. Marcus reportedly replied, “He doesn’t say that it’s not him.” Calling Knight and Sloan’s contentious history a “soap opera,” he added, “The only person who had a motive was Suge Knight.”

Mesereau plans to get Knight’s massive $10 million bond reduced. In the meantime, the former Death Row Records CEO will remain in jail.

He will also have to attend at preliminary hearing on Sept. 17 for an unrelated robbery case from 2014. A female paparazzo claimed Knight and comedian Katt Williams stole her camera for taking pictures of Knight and his son.
