Michael Brown’s family called for calm in the days before the grand jury announcement but in the heat of the moment, calm was replaced with raw, unadulterated grief. “Burn this b*tch down!” said Louis Head, husband to Lesley McSpadden, and stepfather to Michael Brown to the crowd gathered in the hours after the verdict was announced.

Though their burning rage is understandable, we hope in the days to come we will see more of the Brown family’s sentiments as expressed in Geneva, as well as sustained, focused strategy for equality and change.
