Detroit Mother Of 3 Shot To Death After Refusing Man’s Advances
Mary “Unique” Spears, 27, a Detroit mother of three, was shot and killed after refusing a man’s advances inside of a bar, reports MyFoxDetroit.com.
Spears and family members, including her fiancee, had gathered at Joe Louis Post after a funeral when a man approached her.
“He said, ‘Can I get your name, your number,'” Spears’ relative said. “She said, ‘I have a man I can’t talk to you.'”
The 38-year-old man refused to leave her alone for the rest of the night and as they were leaving the establishment, he grabbed and hit her.
A fight broke out between Spears’ fiance and the assailant, who then began shooting.
“He shot her one time,” Spears’ relative said. “And she tried to run. And he shot her two more times in her head.”
Spears’ fiancee and at least four other family members who were injured. They are expected to make a full recovery.
Spears was the mother of three sons, ages 1, 4 and 8, according to a family member.
