‘The Wire’ Actor Stabbed And Beaten In DC Night Club
According to TMZ, “The Wire” star Anwan Glover — who played character Slim Charles — was stabbed inside a Washington DC nightclub early Sunday morning.
Reports say Glover was in Cafe Asia where he says two men started randomly beating on him. He says he heard someone scream, “He has a knife,” and then suddenly felt a sharp pain. The “Twelve Years a Slave” actor was rushed to a local hospital with lacerations and bruises.
It appears that no one knows why the fight started or what the relationship was between Glover and the men who beat and stabbed him. TMZ reports they were told Glover is still in the hospital and is undergoing tests at this time.
A rep for Glover says the actor appreciates everyone’s concern. The rep also added that Glover feels the support from everyone is “helping him get through this.”
