Love And Hip Hop Atlanta’s Stevie J Arrested For Owing $1.1 Million In Child Support
Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star Stevie J (pictured) is being accused by the unnamed mother of two of his children for not paying $1.1 million in back child support. The Atlanta-based rap producer was arrested Monday at his home, but the child support debt criminal complaint was filed at a Manhattan Federal Court and made public on Tuesday, according to TMZ.
Stevie J, whose actual name is Steven Jordan, lived in Manhattan with the mother of two of his children from 1996 to 1999. J, who masterminded tracks like “Mo Money Mo Problems” by the Notorious B.I.G., acknowledged the paternity of the two children and was ordered to dole out $6,608 a month in child support; the payments increased to $8,557 a month in 2011.
According to the criminal complaint, Stevie J ceased making payments to his ex back in 2001 and his tab continued to mount to a stupefying debt of $1,107,412.
The Grammy Award-winning producer and former in-house hit-maker for Bad Boy Records, who reportedly makes $27,000 per month for his role in the VH1 reality show, will have to face criminal charges in New York City after his hearings in Atlanta.
