Tracing Ancestry From Harlem to...China?
[LISTEN] Tracing Ancestry From Harlem To…China?
“People don’t know there’s a long history of the black Chinese,” says former TV executive and entrepreneur Paula Madison. In tracing her roots through Jamaica, Madison set out to find a missing link – her Chinese grandfather and long-lost relatives across the Pacific. She turned that journey into a documentary, “Finding Samuel Lowe: From Harlem to China.”
Madison joined Roland Martin on “NewsOne Now” Tuesday to discuss her family’s story and the upcoming documentary. Watch what he had to say below.
Be sure to listen to “NewsOne Now” with Roland Martin, weekdays at 7 a.m. EST and watch at 9 a.m. EST on TV One.
