New York City mourned the loss of Avonte Oquendo, the young autistic teen who wandered from his Queens school, and was tragically found dead months later. His memory lingers far beyond the missing posters that served as a reminder of the lost teen in the subways.  Arielle Patrick, along with other local young influencers, created a “Spin for Safety” event to honor Avonte and benefit Autism Speaks. The event aims to raise awareness and funds to provide emergency tool kits and resources for families with autistic children at risk of wandering off.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 29 at Swerve Fitness, and all proceeds will benefit the crucial initiative. After a charity sweat session, a cocktail reception will include spins by DJ Alex Cecil and refreshments provided by Liquiteria and Broadway Catering.
