The German candy-making company said the candy was designed to represent a captain’s worldwide trip. It was originally sold in their Skipper Mix packets.
“I understand the criticism and think it’s important to listen to the customers,” said Ola Dagliden, Haribo’s director in Sweden.
Dagliden said complaints about the candy began pouring in from last month.
“After that, we made the decision to take the candy in question out of production,” he added.
The Skipper Mix will continue being sold in Sweden, but without the caricatures included.
