UPS Fails To Deliver Christmas Packages

Thousands of Americans will be a few gifts short this year, thanks to the United Parcel Service. The company announced Wednesday that it would not be able to deliver Christmas packages to customers across the country during the holidays due to a massive backlog, reports CNN.

“We’re terribly sorry,” UPS spokeswoman Natalie Black told CNN.

The company said they underestimated the large volume of air packages they would receive between Thanksgiving and Christmas. “The volume of air packages in our system exceeded the capacity of our network immediately preceding Christmas so some shipments were delayed,” claimed officials.

The recent severe weather across the nation didn’t help either, but of course, that isn’t satisfying the thousands of customers left gift-less this holiday.

“UPS s—s! This is the first time I utilized your service and it will be the last,” wrote Tom Tabaka a disgruntled customer from Wilkes-Barre, Pa. “I’m sure FEDEX experienced the same increase in volume, but I received those packages on time as promised.”

Retailers like Amazon offered to rerun shipping costs and distribute gift cards to customers affected by the stop of service.
