Tiffany Manifield: Jackson Mother Charged In 1-Year-Old Son’s Death
Tiffany Manifield of Jackson, Mississippi has been charge with capital murder in the death of her one-year-old son Tyree McDonald, reports WJTV.com.
The toddler died July 18 from massive head trauma and skull fractures at University of Mississippi Medical Center, according to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart.
According to WJTV, Manifield and her boyfriend called 911 and reported that baby Tyree was nonresponsive.
Tragically, this is the second case of a mother being charged with the murder of her child in recent news.
As previously reported by NewsOne, Davieanna Marlena Blake, 21, who, according to various sources, is the daughter of legendary West Coast Hip-Hop MC, DJ Quik, real name David Marvin Blake, has been charged with 1st-degree murder in the beating death of her 2-year-old son.
Blake and her boyfriend, Darnell Moses Alvarez, 24, who were arrested by Phoenix police, were found standing over the child’s body outside of their apartment.
An autopsy report showed that the child suffered “lacerated liver, severe internal bleeding and multiple bruising throughout his body, inconsistent with being struck with a belt only.”
Manifield appeared in court for a hearing on Saturday.
