Daneta McPherson: Bus Driver Caught On Video Abusing Disabled Child
School Bus Aide Arrested For Allegedly Bullying Disabled 5-Year-Old Boy
Daneta McPherson (pictured) was arrested and charged with stalking last Thursday after a surveillance video on a Port St. Lucie, Fla., school bus showed her menacing a disabled 5-year-old child, reports the New York Daily News.
The 37-year-old woman is seen on the video hovering over the child yelling and threatening the boy, causing him to cry as she rails at him for apparently no reason. At one point, the aide is heard telling the boy, “The very next time I get off this bus and see you in the morning time hitting on your mom, it’s going to be me and you, you understand? I’m gonna teach you a lesson,” she adds.
A police document states that, at one point, the bus attendant reportedly grabbed the boy with such force that he hit his head on the side of the bus.
An unnamed fellow employee blew the whistle on McPherson’s actions and took her concerns to police last December, providing them with videos of the bus monitor’s alleged ruffian tactics with the boy. After a four month-long investigation, police finally took McPherson into custody.
McPherson was released from jail on a $20,000 bond. She is back working in the school district, but officials say she is not working with children.
