Aaron Shannon Jr.: Mistrial Declared In Halloween Killing Of 5-Year-Old In Spider-Man Costume [VIDEO]
The trial of Leonard Hall Jr., 21, charged with murder and attempted murder in the Halloween shooting death of 5-year-old Aaron Shannon Jr. ended in mistrial Friday, reports KTLA.com.
Young Aaron was posing in his Spider-Man costume in his South Los Angeles backyard when Hall and Marcus Denson, then 18, both members of the Kitchen Crips Gang, came onto his block and allegedly opened fire. They were allegedly looking to retaliate for a rival shooting by randomly killing someone.
Aaron was shot in the back of head and died the next day. His grandfather and uncle were also wounded.
After two days of deliberations, the jury was locked at 9-3 in favor of finding Hall guilty.
Denson pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder, one count of manslaughter and testified against Hall, KTLA reports. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 17.
