Call it the Harlem Shake Renaissance, because the frenzied dance looks like it’s going to stick around awhile this year. And who better to get in on the action than the crowd-pleasing Miami Heat?

Residents of Harlem voiced anger that people with no allegiance to the borough have made a joke out of dance that has held a special place in Harlem’s heart since the early ’80’s.

According to ABC, as of “Feb. 11, there have been over 12,000 “Harlem Shake” videos, and they’ve been watched more than 44 million times. Now, YouTube says, over 4,000 of these crazy dance videos are being uploaded per day.”
