CNN Correspondent Apologizes For On-Air Racial Slur
A CNN correspondent has apologized for uttering the words “f**** n****” in a live broadcast.
According to the New York Daily News:
Susan Candiotti used the slur while quoting one of the shooting suspect’s Facebook posts.
“‘Today is two years that my dad has been gone, shot by’ — and please excuse the language, it’s very sensitive — ‘shot by a f—ing [N-word],'” she said.
The network didn’t bleep Candiotti at all, but the curse word and the slur were blurred out in a graphic that appeared next to her.
After Candiotti finished her report, CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield said, “We apologize to our viewers for such profanity being used on our air.”
Candiotti later apologized for not censoring herself.
“In quoting someone else’s words, I repeated their offensive and inappropriate language. I deeply regret it,” she said, according to Mediabistro.com
