Dwyane Wade Has Fatherhood Roundtable With White House Staff
WASHINGTON-Miami Heat guard, Dwyane Wade hosted a Fatherhood Heroes round table discussion in Orlando, Florida during All-Star Weekend on Friday.
The round table was a part of President Barack Obama’s Fatherhood & Mentoring Initiative and Wade was joined by executive director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, Joshua Dubois.
The Huffington Post reports:
Wade was asked to join Obama’s fatherhood task force in 2011, shortly after he gained sole custody of his two sons following a long custody battle with his now ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade.
In a blog for Huffington Post in June 2010, he wrote, “I’ve never been at a loss for nicknames. There’s D-Wade and Flash. I love them both, but to be honest, no label sounds as good to me as Daddy.”
