Man Fakes Own Kidnapping To Get Money From Family
A Willowbrook man wanted to get money from his family, so he staged his own kidnapping and demanded a $1,000 ransom, NBC 5 Chicago reports.

Dorian Ford, 19, is now charged with a Class 4 felony of filing a false crime report.
DuPage County sheriff’s officials said they received a report of the alleged kidnapping at about 7 p.m. Tuesday. Family members reported they’d received a call telling them them that Ford, of the 10s600 block of Ivy Lane, had been kidnapped.
The caller demanded $1,000, police said.
Responding officers later found Ford. They said he told them he’d been kidnapped and hit over the head. After investigating, it was revealed that Ford had not been kidnapped or harmed and that he allegedly made the phone call, report and ransom demand himself.
