Cheaters Never Win! Seven Busted In SAT Cheating Racket
Seven Long Island teenagers were arrested yesterday on charges that they organized a SAT cheating racket that netted one of the suspects thousands of dollars and the others eye-popping test scores.
According to authorities, five young men and one young woman paid Emory University sophomore Sam Eshaghoff, 19, between $1,500 and $2,500 to take their college admission exams.
“Colleges look for the best and brightest students, yet these six defendants tried to cheat the system and may have kept honest and qualified students from getting into their dream school,” said Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice.
