Prayers For Justice At Vigil For Slain NBA Player Lorenzen Wright
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fans, friends and relatives of Lorenzen Wright are expected to attend a candlelight vigil to remember the slain former NBA player, a year after his body was found in a field in southeast Memphis.
The free vigil is scheduled for Thursday night at the Outdoor Plaza of FedExForum, home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies.
Wright played high school and college basketball in Memphis. He also played center and forward for five NBA teams, including the Grizzlies.
Thursday marks one year since his body was found. Wright was shot multiple times, but police have not made an arrest in the case. Wright was missing for 10 days before his decomposing body was discovered.
