Lorenzen Wright's 911 Call Ignored By Police Moments Before He Was Murdered
Lawsuit?! Police Ignored 911 Call Of Slain NBA Star
Memphis, Tenn.–An internal Memphis police department investigation recently found that former NBA star Lorenzen Wright called 911 before he was murdered, but the call was never passed on to police.
According to the investigation, Wright’s nearly 7-foot-tall, badly decomposed body weighed only 57 pounds when it was found ten days later a few yards from the cell phone tower that received his call.
The cell phone call came into the Germantown, Tenn., police department’s emergency dispatch late one night last July. The 911 operator heard a man’s garbled voice, an expletive, then as many as ten gunshots. Then silence.
