Suicidal Mother Kills Herself, 3 Kids By Plunging Car Into River
NEW YORK– A mother and 3 of her children died after she drove her minivan into the Hudson River last night.
A fourth child, Lashaun Armstrong, 10, survived by opening the power window and swimming to shore. Lashaun was picked up by a passerby who took him to a nearby fire station, prompting the police’s search for the family.
Police discovered Lanshandra Armstrong and the three kids: eldest son Landon, brother Lance and baby Lainaina dead inside the submerged vehicle.
The sole survivor Lashaun is ‘doing good’ and ‘taking it all in’ after the tragedy, Miss Armstrong’s aunt Angela Gilliam said.
Police are investigating a domestic dispute Lashandra Armstrong may have had with her boyfriend prior to the incident.
“She was a very good mom,” said neighbor Tina Claybourne. “She took care of her kids. She was always with her kids.”
